Hello, my name is Jason Truesdale, and I’m the owner and operator here at Oak Point Archery. I come from a family of firefighters, and I’m currently serving as a full-time Assistant Fire Chief with 28 years of service. With retirement just around the corner, I truly believe that God has a plan for me, and I'm confident that Oak Point Archery is part of that plan.
I was introduced to archery in 1985 by my father and brother when I received my first bow, a Bear Whitetail II. They took me to a local garage archery shop, where I had a dozen custom arrows made by a family friend. My passion for archery grew as my father and brother brought me to the range to compete with other archers. By the time I was 17, I started bow hunting, and I’ve been “all in” ever since. Bowhunting continues to be one of my greatest passions.
Not long ago, the idea of opening an archery shop came up while I was shooting bows with friends. One of their sons wanted to learn how to shoot, so I went inside, set up a bow, and let him join us. While we were shooting, they mentioned the possibility of opening an archery shop, considering the building, location, and space we had available. At first, I hadn’t thought about it, but it quickly grew on me.
I reached out to another bow shop that was closing its doors, and the person who answered was someone I knew. After discussing some options, we decided to move forward with opening our own shop. From there, we started working together, attended the ATA show, and I became certified as a compound bow and crossbow technician.
My goal for Oak Point Archery is simple: I want to create a place where families can come together—where parents can bring their sons and daughters to get their first bow. I want Oak Point to be the go-to spot for hunters, whether you're looking for the latest bow model, fresh arrows, a simple tune-up, or all the essential accessories.
We will offer complete bow servicing, arrow builds, selling new bows and accessories. We are working with multiple name brand companies to meet every hunters needs. Plus, we will have a coffee bar with free coffee offered to our customers. We want to hear your stories whether its about life or hunting. We are looking forward to meeting you!
